Well, it has taken a few years but finally managed to visit the Clickers Aladin Cave!!
Face to face was interesting. Didn't shoot great but the experience with the recurve was great. Didn't disgrace myself too much for a beginner.
Weather has warmed up a bit so took full opportunity yesterday and shot a 720 - 589 - really pleased, 70 ponts on my pb. Can't wait for outdoors now, only 4 months to go!!
2008 has been good with the Recurve and I think that the compound will stay in the bag for another year. Hoping for more PBs in 2009.
Hope you all have a Happy Christmas and New Year and good shooting for 2009.
The Indoor Season So Far
Date: 10/11/2008 19:51
Well, indoors doesn't seem to be going so bad. Went to Hawks FITA 18m and Head to Head. Only 8 lady recurves which was a bit disappointing but shot 501 - pb, and qualified in 5th. Head to Heads were great, won the first with 107, second with 106 and then managed to win the final with 112. Was really pleased - celebrated with a glass of wine and a curry!
This weekend was Evesham. Shot both sessions, managed to put 19 points on pb with a 520 - still not 60 hits though but improved in the next session - all 60 hits and 532 so really pleased. Finding it it hard indoors to block out the noise from everyone else shooting - never really noticed with a compound as never had to listen for a clicker! Indoors is so loud!!
What on Earth Have I Been Doing!

Well, where do I start. 2007 ended reasonably ok with a bronze in the team round at Dover so not a bad 2007 really - didn't quite get my qualification scores for outdoors though, about 5 points short I think.
Winter season carried on ok, nothing spectacular - achieved the indoor qualifying scores so quite pleased.
2008 - The year started well, shot 1386 in Sutherland Hall at Lilleshall so was very positive for the outdoor season, then came the first Lilleshall at the beginning of May .....
Shot the Saturday with the compound, it didn't go well at all so decided to get the recurve out. Was there saturday night trying to hit 70m, sight right in and as far down as it will go!!
Sunday - had a fantastic day - most of the arrows hit and I opened my recurve season with 975 - ok for a beginner!
The season has improved from there really, I have my 1000 and 1100 FITA star and was only 4 points off MB at the last Lilleshall. I have my 1000 Hereford badge too. Managed to break 500 for the 720 round too eventually!!
Now to the indoor season, have just started back training after a break at the end of the outdoor season. Will just see how it goes. Will be using the indoors to improve technique and build up the muscles!
Promise to keep you up to date a bit more frequently (sorry Graham) for those of you who are interested!
