Date: 09/07/2010 14:26

Well what have i done...
Not only have i done and finished my first year of university at nottingham trent university, where im studying Coaching and sport science, i passed the whole year.
Last summer went well, i managed to get to the finals of the national series, and i won, which was a lovely surprise.
I went to Korea in september 2009 and came 46th in the senior world champs.
I also went to Nimes in the winter, which was really nice as i managed to make the cut.
In march i went to the test event for the commonwealth games and i managed to win there, it was wonderful as i came up against an indian in the final, it was awesome to beat her on home ground. I hope that in October i will be able to do as well again!
I will write again if i remember any other important news from last year, and the beginning of this year.

Exams
Date: 12/06/2009 19:16

I didn't get a chance to go to the Masters this year due to exams... it is so annoying I always seem to miss it :(
Anyway just 1 to go Biology, I have finished my psychology and sports studies and my retake for English literature... so we will see how they all go in August!

Evesham
Date: 12/06/2009 19:14

Well my first time at Evesham, what a lovely field, it was lovely when we arrived not too much of a breeze and all of a sudden as soon as the whistle blew a hurricane arrived (not really but it felt like it with a back tension!)
It rained so heavily at one stage that the shoot was stopped for 15 minutes and everyone rushed back to their tents. However, as the day carried on the scores got slightly better despite the constant wind and occasional rain.
After the 720 I was in 2nd place, so considering how badly I was shooting compared to normal I was very happy with that.
Then came the head to heads, oh my gosh I just seemed to feel so cold, and the way I was shooting was appalling, I didn’t know what to do with myself; did I aim off and wait for the wind to suddenly die down or do I just aim in the gold and hope to God they will go there? I can not remember what I did but It some how paid off and I found myself in 2nd place overall… just a few points to start off with in the circuit. It was very well organised and first prize is a great Easton quiver. I will update you to tell you if I manage to get one of those this year…

Walsall Double FITA
Date: 12/06/2009 19:05

Again trust Lilleshall of the wonderful weather! It was windy and raining, mind you I just keep going and it did clear up (apart from the wind factor) but what a good shoot my mental just seems to be there I was happy with my shots and they seemed to go where I wanted them. After an initial lead with some very tough competition for most of the first day I dropped to 2nd place and there I stayed but for an 18 year old and my 2nd shoot of the year I wasn't too sad :)!
I just need to keep shooting with my back tension (mini evolution) even in the wind and hope that I shoot well on the day, because that's all you can ever do.

G.B selection 1
Date: 12/06/2009 19:01

So my first outdoor shoot of the year... and to be honest it did not go too badly!
3rd place.
The weather was awful but for some reason I felt that all of my shots just couldn't miss, I was very happy with the way I was shooting in the FITA especially, the 720 score was not as good and by the time the head to heads came around (after all of the mix ups) everyone was feeling a little tired, however I tried to shoot my best and I won most of my matches and the ones I lost were only by a few points.
Unfortunately no one did that well in the respect that we were all set the same standard by Peter S.
Hopefully next time I will be able to do this providing the weather is a little better... and we will see :)

Hello
Date: 17/03/2009 12:38

Hello,
Ok so this winter has been slow for me especially with all of my exams..ahh only 8 more to go in the summer HAHA! oh dear

So archery... well my indoor season was not good at all, the senior indoors were ok, i was nearly at my level, but not quite. However now i am shooting outdoors again, i must say it is going very well. I am so happy to finally be out in the sun at weekends.
Hopefully with a few more weekends practice i will be able to shoot some very good scores this year :)

I will let you know how that goes :)

2008 / Turkey
Date: 23/10/2008 17:32

After a rocky start this year, things are finally starting to go well!

Not only did i get my qualifying scores for the senior team but i also went to my last Junior World Championships in Turkey.

Turkey..
It was a great trip, not only was the weather brilliant but the atmosphere of the team was great!
After a shakey start of being in 6th place after the long metric i managed to pull up my scores and (break 3 national records in the process) and come 2nd after the FITA with a score of 1372.
The first day of qualifications was really good i was really relaxed and although i had to wait hours for my first match i managed to get some practice in against the Junior boys which was really good for getting me into the competitive mood before my match.
I had 2 matches that day and on the last match of the day i started with a 57 to her 53 so everything was going well but the next 6 arrows of mine were all in the 9 whereas hers were a 58..A tie. Ok no problem, the anxiety hit me i was calming myself down and as soon as i drew back my bow all my worries left. My arrow was an "x" to her "8".

The second day of qualifications was not so easy, i was very nervous on my first 3 arrows and althought i won the next 3 ends we were still only at a tie. The archery from Germany went through to the semies that day and i went to the practice field.

However on the practice field i was shooting amazing shots and they were all going into the gold i thought this is great if i knew i was in the gold medal match tomorrow i could win this so i was really happy with my perfromance, my style couldnt have been any better and 7th in the World, well i am very happy with that!! :)

I am currently training indoors and things are going well i think i will be able to get senior indoor qualification scores this year, so i will be at the nationals and a few other indoor shoots this year to see if i can do that.

Summer
Date: 11/10/2007 22:21

I forgot to tell you about the summer...
At the beginning of the year I won the Senior Indoor Championships as well as being the overall champion in the Junior Indoor Championships. During the summer I also won the Junior Outdoor Championships, by winning on both days. To top off the Championship shoots I came third at the Senior Outdoor Championships.
This year not only did I win at these shoots, and others of senior and junior standards, but I achieved 4 more junior national records on top of my 32 from last year. I have also claimed for my Senior Master Bowman and Senior Grand Master Bowman titles.
