6.00am setting out for weekend at Norwich, 2 hours drive to go.

11.00am just finished 90m tricky wind not getting a lot of feedback from the flag 314 scored

12.30 finished 70m wind still tricky shot 333.

15.15 that 50m over wind persisting with a bit of rain thrown in and 333 again

17.10 its all over 350 for 30m 1330 in total and hopefully still 2nd place.

Back tomorrow for the fita 720.

Had a full weekend pass to go and shoot the double FITA, with a windy forecast for Saturday and a better day Sunday I was just hoping to get an MB score first followed a decent ranking score second.

Saturday went well with a final score 0f 1336 and my second MB score as planned. It was a steadish right to left wind but I was basically looking forward to Sunday which was meant to be nice.

Sunday turned out to be worse than Saturday and I struggled all the way through finishing on 1315 and my third MB score.

When will the weather give me a break, this year is turning out to be as bad as last year.

Anyway, I have seen the most gorgeous bow, the new Hoyt carbon Matrix Compound. I wonder if the boss will let me have one, I will have to be extra good at that price.

Just shot the Sunday Last weekend as I was at the British GP Qualifying on Saturday.

The weather was fine but unfortunately windy again, it was basically from behind but as with this type of wind it flipped left and right.

Started off reasonably on the 720 with a score 0f 650 putting me in third place.

We finished the ranking round at 12.30pm and with byes and other rounds my first H2H match was due to take place at about 3.00pm. However my opponent failed to turn up so I wasn't allowed to shoot it. So my first actual match took place at 3.40pm a full 3 hours and 10 mins after finishing the ranking rounds, I could have gone home for a couple of hours and still got back to shoot it on time.

This match was interesting, my first encounter with the new format. We started with a draw then I won the next two rounds to put me 5-1 up, he then pulled back two wins to take it to 5-5 and a 1 arrow shoot off. I held my nerve to win with a 9 just outside the ten ring.

The following rounds flowed as you normally expect and it ended up with me finishing in third place with a 7-1 win.

Thumbs up for the new format, looking forward to the next one.

The county Shoot also hosted at this year Herts v Bedscounty match and I am very pleased to report that as part of the compound team we were victorious.

Shot the Herts County Champs last weekend for the first time as a compound archer.

Saturday was sunny with a light wind blowing diagonally across the field from over my left shoulder. I managed to shoot 1194 which ended up being the highest score of the day.

Sunday was sunny again with a strong wind blowing from behind. I shot 1180 and finished up in first place making me the new Herts County Compound Champion.

Shot my first FITA the other day at Middlesex, I was on a target with John Stubbs and probably bored him silly with all my questions.

Still I had rather a good day shooting 1369 and beating John to first place by 1 point.

That's my first GMB score with the compound, and now I want more even though I was only looking to get MB this year and only shooting to enjoy myself while I learned how the compound worked.

A new venture for Cambridge, I entered when initially I didn't get into Clophill.

The location, field and amenities where great and it will definitely be on my calendar for next year.

The weather was fine with a light wind.

With scores of 674, 655 and 668 I was slightly disappointed considering the fantastic weather, but have come to the conclusing that my arrows are too light and therefore drifting to much in the slightest of breeze.

So I will be looking for a stiffer heavier set and putting the weight of the compound up from 55 to 59 lbs.

Still another score for my ranking, just need to find a FITA to shoot now.

As a local shoot for me and a chance to shoot the compound at distance I thought I would give it a go.

It was a blustery day which made shooting the compound tricky but I managed a new PB of 906 and finished in 1st place not too displeased with my efforts.

The outdoor season started fro me at the Clophill Fita four.

Some who have seen me about this year may have noticed I have swapped back to compound AGAIN.

This time however it is more permanent.

The scoring at Clophill started reasonably with a 673 but deteriorated through the weekend, never mind that's one score towards the ranking.

Yet another wet and weekend, my ranking score is looking pretty poor this year with me only managing a 1225 and 1209 last weekend.

Still it was enough to see off the competition and let me win it for the 6th time.

Where's this heatwave the weather people forecast!!!

Lets hope for a better August/September.
