Telford double fita turned out to be a great weeken for shooting. Almost perfect conditions. My first day score 1399, PB by 5 points, was I disappointed, no I wasn't, I got 2 PB'S. 50m was my other pb 347. I new I had a 1400 in me, and new it will come.
Sunday I thought was colder, but still good shooting conditions, I started good again by the end of the long metric I was 1 point up. I started 50 good and put in another pb 350 I was really pleased with this. 30m was hard going, I had'nt worked it out what I needed, and my target companions kept the score sheet from me. Those last 3 arrows were blooming hard, finished with 1403 the highest GB ladies compound score this year. I got 2 new British records single/double Fita and 2 new world/european masters record for Fita round and 50m

I was looking forward to this event as my shooting was going really well. The weather was almost perfect for the FITA round. I started really well with 117, got 348 for 70m a PB and a new World/European masters record, 60m was just as good with another record 352,finishing with dead 700. I was in 4th place so I was feeling good about my shooting. 50m was a different story, I just couldn't hit the 10, that 1400 has now disappeared finishing with a very disappointing 334 and dropping down to 9th place. 30m was slightly better dropping 4points finishing with a (I think) repsectable 1390, and in 7th place, but deep down I was upset I didn't get the magic 1400. The elminations round was a bit windy, I had a Bye the 1st round and was then up against a friend from Holland unfortuntaley I lost a 3 arrow shoot off as Inge arrow was closest to the X. But what was great, team mate Nicky Hunt won the Gold how fantastic was that, I was there to see it. Good luck Nicky in Turkey.
Outdoor selection part 1

I was looking forward to the selection as my shooting was going well. But again the good old British weather put a dampener on that. Saturday started with a lovely downpour, which in turn changed into very gusty winds. my long metric went ok, but the short metric was a disaster. Fortunatley all 8 archers were to go through to next day. 2nd day, 2 archers were to be gone. I went from being 1st place after LM down into 4th place going into 2nd day, shooting a 70m round with round robin. I started well, and finished the round in 1st place with 667. I felt my shooting was back to how it should be, and was feeling so good. I won all of my matches and I'm now in a good position for the 2nd selection in June

outdoor season is now here, and my practise is going well. Been shooting in a hangar so the conditions are perfect, like Nicky have put in 1403 (indoors). The challenge now is to do it outdoors.
EAF took a team to the Arizona cup, this is in preparation for the Commomwealth games next year. The start of the week was really windy and hot, I was thinking this is going to be great scores(not). The long metric conditions were good, the wind did catch me out for a couple of ends. I was in 6th place Nicky shot really good, and was hovering around 1-3rd place. The short metric was a different story, 50m was okish but 30m was really bad. I finished with 1363, not too bad for the 1st FITA of the season.
The team of Nicky, Rikki and me went really well even though it was windy yet again. We won after doing a tie break. Our opponents were a team made up of Andrea Gales, Erica Annear (Aus) and Britanny Lorenti (USA) the winner of the 1st stage of the World cup..
Overall a very well run shoot and good start to the outdoor season.

This is always a good shoot, feeling a bit down from the selection shoot, I just wanted to shoot good.
The qualifying round went ok finished with 573 a small improvement, this put me in 8th place. My first H2H went ok 114 my next opponent was Valerie Fabre, one of France's top lady shooters, I kept my cool and won 116 v 115, feeling my shot is back now, next round I tied with 114, the 1 arrow shot off wasn't a good shot and lost the match, overal placing I was 5th. So not too bad.
Looking forward to Vegas now!!

Going into the selection shoot I was shooting good my average being 579.5, so when I only got 570 I was really annoyed, like Liam my Vegas 10 score was good, just not getting the 10's. The H2H'S started well, I only lost 2 matches but my last 2 weren't not good scores Hence why I was 4th by 4 points. Win some lose some, I will train harder now for Nimes

This is the 2nd best indoor around,( Vegas being the 1st).
My first day of shooting was great ending up with 582, with a 119 dozen in there. 2nd day shooting wasn't quite as nice, didn't feel so great with my shooting, but who knows is about getting the points, as well as, shooting a high score, which is what got me through to the next round my poorly 570, the next matches were shot with just 30 minutes break, the start again with 5 more matches. I started very nervous, but winning my first 2 matches then I think tiredness crept in and lost 2 and drew a match which wasn't good enough, but the score was 572. This was higher than some of the group winners, but this time it was just the top 2 going through.

The EAF sent a team for training in the land of OZ. Me was thinking great nice hot weather for 2 weeks, get some good score in, but no, how wrong was I. I think we had 2 really hot days the rest was very windy, but warmish.
The first shoot we done was really windy so the scores were down, only getting 1337. The main shoot was the Australian open, some of the top New Zealand archers also attended. This was a FITA over 2 days followed by individual match play and team knock out. The long metric went quite well, I was just ahead of Nicky by 6 points followed closely by Andrea then Dani, Lucy and Kay. This was one of the good days. But the short metric was so
windy, with gusts and this also kept the score down, I finished 1st then Nicky 2nd, Andrea 4th, then Dani, Kay and Lucy.
I won the match play on the Sunday, and England 1 won the team round.
This was a good training trip from all points of view, by getting to know the managment plus some new team members.

I was very dissappointed on not winning my final against Jamie, I was 2 points ups going into the last 3 arrows, Jamie shot 30, to my 26, I really don't know why I had an eight as it felt a good shot. There is no point in pondering on it and except that 2nd isn't too bad. I will need to train much more next year.
It was a fantastic atomsphere, and we treated like royallites staying in a 5* hotel being driven where ever or when ever we like.
The only thing that was dissappointing was that we didn't have any medals.
I just want to thank all my friends (The Simpson fan club) for all the cheering, singing, and the tee-shirts, it was fantastic.
