Hi all, an update coming right up.... Since the last blog have had quite a bit of change, have shot in the hawks FITA 18m, finishing 4th (i think, if your really worried check out the hawks website) scoring 556 and getting through the first 2 rounds of the head to heads before being knocked out disappointingly by 109!-113. However things have picked up after some technical changes, shooting a 548 with a miss and 562 at fakenham Fita 18m. Since then seem to have averaged around the 560-570 mark. Shot in the Junior nationals last week finishing 2nd with a 584 for a Portsmouth round, being thoroughly beaten by the new National overall champion who scored 590. So to sum it all up, is heading in the right direction, and look forward to the Senior Nationals in (February?).
Merry Christmas!

Telford Fita
Date: 28/09/2009 19:12
Just shot the Telford FITA star, things are definitely going in the right direction although seriously inconstant which is the next thing to work on. Started on saturday with 303 at 70m which was a little disspointing but a 318 and 311 60m and 50m respectively pulled my score up a bit with a 340 to finish at 30m giving me 1271 for the day. Not the 1300 which I had hoped for but getting closer. The sunday started off quit poorly with 297 at 70m but a p.b at 60m of 330 really picked up points and at the half way stage was 7 up on the previous day. 50m was ok but not as good as the previous day with 303 and a 339 at 30m saw me finish with 1269 giving me a total of 2240 over the 2 days 15 off my double p.b. So that has concluded the outdoor season nicely and now to get ready for the indoors...
Speaks soon

Bowmen of Glen + Ipswich international
Date: 22/09/2009 21:24
As I generally am blogging irregularly and am probably missing out on letting you know about the odd shoot I have combined The last two tournaments to keep your right up to date! Bowmen of glen, shot a double 720 with a rather poor 588 in the morning somehow managing 2nd behind Tom went into the afternoon on a mission, shooting a 611 which is a season best. The shoot was a good warm up for the Ipswich international----- Shot the Ipswich international This weekend was a great weekend of shooting and would highly recommend it, although there is a high entry fee, me and my sister returned with prizes worth more the the entry including a longrod and a 12 month subscription to bow plus a free hoyt/mathews hat for entering. The saturday started with the 720 qualifying, started well with a 318 at 3 dozen but not such a great second 3 doz with 301 giving me 619 and qualifying 7th/23, Started the sunday with a bye- then a win and finally being knocked out to Tom 6-4 (using the new scoring H2H play) This gave me a final placing of 7th.
Will keep you up to date on my whereabouts and competitions!

Exmouth Fita and head 2 Heads
Date: 24/08/2009 18:48
Took the 6 hour drive down to exmouth last week for the exmouth 720 + H2H (part of the national series) and Fita rounds. The Saturday was the 720 and shot poorly with 592 in the ranking round, this got me 27/72 for the qualifying, had a bye in the first round, won 98-88 in the first round shooting a poor last 6 arrows (52+46) in the second match came up against Al Wills, tying 52-52 after the first six arrows, tried too hard in the second six and lost 99-105. On the sunday had a very poor start however found the problem during the lunch break and shot a reasonable 50m and good 30m, finishing on 1218 getting me 1st.
Will try and keep you up to date with how i'm getting on!
